As a company, Raven Advisory, LLC, conducts ourselves with the highest degree of integrity and honesty (Forbes, Code of ethics & business conduct, 2021). Faculty, staff, instructors, and students are expected to uphold Raven’s Core Values:
- Respect for individuals
- Open and honest communication
- Set the tone at the top
- Uphold the law
- Ethical, fair, and vigorous competition
- Respect the property rights of others
- Selective disclosure of nonpublic information
- Maintain health and safety
- Avoid conflicts of interest
- Promote substance over form
- Do the right thing:
- Comply with principles, code of conduct, and policies
- Do not misrepresent information
- Do not deviate from normal procedures
- Do only what you can comfortably describe to others
- Do only what will look good in the headlines
- Be loyal to your family, company, and yourself
- Do only what you would tell your child to do
Academic integrity is vital to the success of the student and the educational program. Quality education leads to quality care. The highest standards of ethical and professional conduct are integral to success in the EMS education. As members of the EMS profession, the student shares a commitment to adhere to EMS Code of Ethics.
Academic Dishonesty
Academic dishonesty is defined as a student providing or obtaining unauthorized help in academic coursework or accepting recognition for work which is not theirs. Examples of dishonesty include, but not limited to:
- Copying from another student or allowing another student to copy work
- Unauthorized collaboration with others on tests, quizzes, or assignments
- Using unauthorized resources (i.e. notes or cheat sheets)
- Transmitting or receiving unauthorized communications (i.e. notes or text messages) during an exam
- Disclosing or receiving examination questions to other students
- Using another person’s ideas, opinions, or theory without acknowledgement of the source
Social Media
Positive statements on social media regarding your experience at Raven and your clinical locations are encouraged and appreciated. If your social media profile associates you with Raven, all of your social posts shall be positive and professional, regardless of the topic.
Use of Artificial Intelligence
The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in student and instructor submissions and works shall meet the following conditions:
- The use of and processes involving AI shall be transparent and the AI instrument shall be appropriately cited and disclosed in the bibliography.
- AI should not introduce bias or discrimination.
Law Enforcement and State Office of EMS Notification
In the event of suspicion of illegal activity or actions that might jeopardize an individual’s ability to obtain or maintain a state license, the appropriate local and state officials will be notified.
Anti-Human Trafficking
Faculty, staff, instructors, and students are required to report any suspected trafficking related activity (Forbes, Anti-human trafficking compliance policy, 2021). Reports of suspected trafficking should be forwarded to Raven Advisory, LLC Office of Compliance and Internal Audit or Office of General Counsel (contact Human Resources for more information). Such activity may also be reported to the National Human Trafficking Hotline at https://humantraffickinghotline.org or 888-373-7888.
Any retaliation against any employee, contractor, or student who reports prohibited trafficking related activity or cooperates with investigations is strictly prohibited by Raven policy (Forbes, Anti-human trafficking compliance policy, 2021).
Re-Occurrences
Repeat offenses of even minor infractions will be handled on an escalating scale of responses at the discretion of the lead instructor and program director.
