Sub-Section 7.37.333 - EMR Prerequisites

Students must complete the following before completing the first day of class:

• Have regular access to a personal computer with reliable internet access and some type of word processing software
• Be at least 17 years old before the official end date of the course (NCOEMS, 2023)
• Have a high school diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE), or GED before state or national testing. In the event applicant does not have a high school diploma or GED before beginning class, a reading comprehension exam is required to poove at least tenth-grade reading level and concurrent enrollment in a high school or GED program (NCOEMS, 2022) (NCOEMS, 2023)
• Complete application process (including application fee, interview, entrance exam, and acceptance into the program)
• Ability to obtain a state-issued Driver License
• Must not have a criminal background of felonies or drug-related convictions
• Must have the ability to pass a drug screen
