Steps:
Take BSI precautions.
Ask if the patient is choking.
If the patient is choking, stand behind the patient and wrap your arms around the abdomen.
Make a fist with one hand just above the navel, and place the other hand to top of the fist.
Perform abdominal thrusts by pulling in and up into the patient’s abdomen until the airway obstruction is relieved or the patient becomes unconscious. Fails to take BSI precautions prior to performing procedure.
