EMT Clinical Coordinator Job Description

Position Overview

The EMT Clinical Coordinator reports to the EMT Lead Instructor and is responsible for coordinating all clinical experiences. This contract employee role includes the management of clinical placements to ensure students gain the practical experience required for certification.

Responsibilities

Clinical Coordination:

• Oversee the planning and coordination of all clinical rotations and field internships for EMT students.
• Establish and maintain partnerships with local EMS agencies, hospitals, and other healthcare facilities to secure clinical sites.
• Ensure that all clinical experiences meet the educational objectives of the program and comply with accreditation and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor student performance during clinical rotations, providing guidance and support as needed to ensure successful completion of required competencies.
• Serve as a liaison between clinical sites, students, and the program to address any issues or concerns that arise during clinical placements.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a certified EMT or Paramedic with clinical experience. Previous experience in an educational setting or clinical coordination is preferred.
• Knowledge of EMT curriculum, clinical practices, and state/national accreditation requirements.
• Excellent organizational and coordination skills, particularly in managing clinical placements.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with students, faculty, and clinical partners.
• Ability to adapt to changing educational environments and integrate new technology and teaching methods.

Work Environment:

• This position requires occasional evening and weekend work to accommodate class schedules and community events.
• The role may involve working in online environments, classroom settings, simulation labs, and off-site locations.
